Pre-covid 19, the United Kingdom had reached their lowest cancer survival rates due to regular screening.

However, the pandemic disrupted the regular screening due to home isolations resulting in a 6.8% rise in the diagnosis of late and terminal stage 4 cancers. This concluded with 4,700 otherwise avoidable deaths.
